Caitlin grew up in Anacortes, Washington and moved to Oregon to attend Pacific University in Forest Grove. While in college she had many opportunities to satisfy her love of traveling, including semesters in Maynooth, Ireland and Paris, and a summer trip to Zambia to study chimpanzees and teach local children about the importance of protecting our primate cousins. After completing a Bachelor's degree in French with a minor in Psychology in 2004, she moved to Boston for a Master's program in French at Boston College. While studying French literature she also had the opportunity to teach French to undergraduate students.
Realizing that she was a west-coaster at heart, Caitlin moved back to Portland and began working for environmental software start-up GreenPrint Technologies in 2007, where she spent four years in a range of roles including technical support, operations management, marketing, sales, and business development.
After relocating to Bend in 2010, Caitlin joined the Cascades Academy team as Admission and Development Assistant in 2011. She greatly enjoys this position as it allows her to get to know families and students throughout the admission process while also working closely with the administration and Board of Trustees on development projects that impact the school community as a whole. Caitlin also teaches French in the Upper School part-time.
When she's not busy at CACO, Caitlin enjoys reading cookbooks and trying new recipes, traveling, and taking advantage of all of the great outdoor activities Bend has to offer.
