Donna was born and raised in Northern California, and graduated from San Diego State University with a BS degree in Child Development and Psychology. After graduation she moved to Stuttgart, Germany with her husband where they lived for three years and had twins.
Back in the USA, she was the director of several preschool and day care centers and earned a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 1985. She taught fifth and second grades in North Andover, Massachusetts, and after relocating back to California, continued to teach second grade. She was very active in the NOYCE Math Foundation programs for teachers for over ten years, pursuing this path as the math coach for Camden School District and Cambrian School District.
In 2008 Donna and her husband retired to beautiful Bend, Oregon. She began teaching at Cascades Academy in 2010. She finds teaching kindergarten and math to be very rewarding, and was trained in the Scottish Storyline program in 2011.
When she's not in the classroom you can find Donna walking, creating new recipes in the kitchen, or challenging her husband to a game of Bocce in the backyard.
