Senora Ablao has been teaching elementary school Spanish for seven years. In her classes, students learn songs, stories, games and traditions from different Spanish speaking cultures, practicing the language and enhancing their understanding and appreciation of other cultures.
While in college, Anne spent a semester in a small village in Costa Rica, living in a bamboo house with a thatched grass roof and dirt floor with a local family. She discovered the joys of the simple life and full immersion in the Spanish language.
After graduating with a BA in Political Science from Colorado College, Anne worked in the mountains for 10 years as a wilderness instructor for Eagle Rock School, Yosemite Institute, and Colorado Outward Bound, before pursuing teaching Spanish.
Since then, Anne has traveled to many Spanish speaking countries, including a month long honeymoon in Argentina and Chile, and trips to Mexico with her husband and their two daughters. When not teaching and traveling, Anne enjoys hiking, skiing, and rock climbing.
