Marcy Monte grew up in Spokane, Washington and received a degree in arts education from Eastern Washington University, and in Remedial Reading from Portland State. Her most memorable education came from traveling to 12 countries with an international educational program called "Up With People". Once bitten with the travel bug, Marcy traveled on her own to New Zealand, Australia, New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands on a 70 ft sailboat. After her travels she returned to the northwest, where she married and raised a family.
Marcy has been an Art Educator for 21 years in the Bend-La Pine Schools and is enjoying her first year here at Cascades. She continues to seek out travel adventures, most recently, on a 14-day whitewater kayaking trip through the Grand Canyon. When she%u2019s not traveling, she%u2019s enjoying the mountains of Central Oregon, telemark and nordic skiing, backpacking, dancing, and spending time with her family.
