They tell a story about who we are, our culture, and our mission and values. At Cascades Academy, academic achievement is an important part of our mission. Our expectations are high, but we're also aware that the process of learning is just as important as the product. We believe that learning how to learn is just as important as learning the answers. It is the lifelong love of learning that we seek.

In order to do this, we've created an intimate educational setting that encourages participation, accountability, respect, and collaboration. We have a low student to teacher ratio in order to create an engaged learning environment and and one that allows for more individual attention in the classroom. We want teachers to forge close connections with every student, and we want students to make strong connections with each other.

We also want our students to be exposed to as many diverse experiences as possible. This is why we have chosen to incorporate art, music, and drama classes throughout our curriculum. But these diverse experiences are not limited to inside the classroom. In fact, our students are off-campus a lot - whether it is for field trips, our skiing program at Mt. Bachelor, traveling school, internships, or community service projects. We believe that sometimes the best educational opportunities occur "outside" of the classroom walls.
