An important part of our mission at Cascades Academy is to develop both the character and citizenship of our students. In order to do this, we think it is important to expand our educational offerings outside the walls of the classroom as well. Our students are frequently off-campus taking advantage of unique educational activities with various local resources.
Community Partnerships & Resources
We have tapped into many Central Oregon organizations in order to enhance our students' educational experience including:
Mt. Bachelor Ski Area
Winter at Cascades Academy includes Central Oregon-style outdoor recreation through a weekly ski program at Mt Bachelor. For 11 consecutive Thursdays during ski season, students in grades 6-12 travel to the mountain for lessons in the afternoon. Our students in grades K-5 head up to the mountain for five full-day lessons.
Physical Education Classes: Juniper Swim & Fitness and other local venues
Our physical education classes routinely visit the Juniper Swim & Fitness Center to participate in swimming and other classes. You also might catch our students ice skating at Seventh Mountain Resort, dancing at the Gotta Dance Studio, or rock climbing at the Inclimb gym.
Public Schools
Our students are able to attend courses and participate in extracurricular activities including sports and drama through our partnership with the area's public high schools. About one-fourth of Cascades Academy's older students are involved with programs offered by the public schools.
Cascade Community School of Music (CCSM)
Cascades Academy has partnered with the CCSM, which offers private and group lessons for children and adults. CCSM offers their music classes on the campus of Cascades Academy. Cascades Academy students receive a 10% discount on all music classes.
