Each year our 3rd-12th grades participate in our unique Traveling School Program. The Upper School students have the advantage of going on two traveling school trips each year: one in the fall and another in the spring. For each trip, our teachers tailor their curriculum to focus on the area, activities, and cultural events that students will get to visit first-hand. Students prepare for this journey through various homework and reading assignments that will help enrich their experience.
In May 2011 the Upper School traveled to Washington D.C. for a historical and cultural tour of the nation's capital including the following exciting highlights:
-White House and Capital Tours
-Smithsonian, Natural History Museum, Holocaust Museum and Air & Space Museum Visits
-Meeting with Senator Wyden
-Amish Day including home and school tours and authentic meals
-Arlington Cemetary, Marian Koshland Museum, and Crime and Punishment Museum Visits
-Jamestown and Williamsburg Visits
-An Orioles vs. Nationals Game |
