CAMP POrtal

Camp CREATE, which stands for Creatively Redefining Education through Adventurous Teaching Experiences, has been a cherished summer program in Central Oregon for nearly a decade. Built on a strong foundation of STEM, robotics, art, and nature, our camps inspire hands-on exploration, critical thinking, and creativity.
This year, we are proud to be Central Oregon’s premier Scottish Storyline Method camp, bringing an imaginative and collaborative approach to our already exceptional programming. The Scottish Storyline Method enhances our foundation by weaving storytelling and creativity into each camp theme, allowing campers to deeply engage with the subject matter through interactive narratives, dynamic projects, and teamwork.
Our six main weeks of Camp CREATE feature exciting weekly themes, field trips to local destinations, guest educators, and immersive experiences that spark curiosity and foster growth. We also offer a sports camp and two weeks of Paul Snape’s highly popular STEM-focused camps, ensuring there’s something for every child to explore and enjoy.
At Camp CREATE, we are redefining summer learning, combining adventure, imagination, and discovery to create a program that campers return to year after year. Join us and experience why we are the premier destination for creative, hands-on learning in Central Oregon.

Designed to foster a deep connection with nature, this immersive camp explores ecosystems, wildlife behavior, survival skills, and environmental stewardship through engaging activities, expert-led workshops, and exciting outdoor challenges. Campers will investigate animal tracks, build shelters, create nature art, experiment with solar ovens, and even meet real wildlife experts. Through interactive games, hikes, and conservation projects, participants will develop a lifelong appreciation for the natural world while gaining valuable skills in teamwork, observation, and ecological responsibility. With a balance of science, creativity, and adventure, Nature Detectives is the perfect experience for young nature enthusiasts ready to explore, learn, and make a difference.
July 14 - 18: Beyond the Frame: The Art & Science of Photography
Beyond The Frame: The Art & Science of Photography iis an immersive camp where young photographers capture the world through real film cameras, digital cameras, and hybrid instant cameras. Campers will explore the essentials of photography — including composition, lighting, perspective, and visual storytelling — while experimenting with nature photography and creative techniques. Each group will learn age-appropriate skills designed to build both technical knowledge and inspire artistic confidence. A professional photographer will join us during the week to mentor campers in fine art photography and visual composition. The experience culminates in a curated exhibit, where students proudly display their best work in a celebration of creativity and discovery.
July 14 - 18: Girls STEAM Camp
In this all-girls week-long camp, students will explore concepts in science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on activities. Campers will create, build, test, and iterate designs and use technology to bring their designs into reality. We'll tackle engineering and design challenges; build and program robots; and learn how to use a variety of tools to accomplish our goals including a laser cutter and 3D printers. This camp is open to 3rd - 5th graders and will be run by Cascades Academy's science and robotics teacher and the school's Mystic Biscuit Robotics team as a fundraiser for their program!
July 21 - 25: Style Engineers
Style Engineers is a creative and hands-on experience where kids can explore the exciting world of fashion, design, and self-expression. Campers will dive into fun, interactive activities like T-shirt decorating, accessory making, and upcycled fashion challenges, all while learning about colors, patterns, and personal style. Through team-based styling games, confidence-building runway activities, and a final fashion showcase, campers will develop their creativity and express themselves in a fun and inclusive environment.
