FAQs for Camp

What does a typical day at Camp CREATE look like?

While this is the basic structure of our day, it can often look different based on field trips or adventures!

9:00-9:10 Drop Off, Check In

9:15-10:00 Morning Meeting and Game

10:00-10:45 Theme Based Activity/Project 1

10:45-11:15 Morning Recess/Group Game

11:15-12:00 Theme Based Activity/Project 2

12:00-12:40 Lunchtime (students bring sack lunches)

12:45-1:30 Tinker Time (Theme based exploration at individual level)

1:45-3:00 Choice Activity: Swimming at Tumalo State Park, Arts and Crafts, Field Games etc.

3:15-3:45 Snack Time & Clean Up

3:45-4:00 End of Day Circle Game/Sharing

Will my children of different ages be in the same camp?

We cap our camps at 50 students each week. Students attending the camp range from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and we typically break into two groups during project times and choice activities. Kindergarten through second grade work together and third grade through fifth grade work together. During breaks, lunch and group activities we are all together.

COVID Update: Camp groups will be limited to a small group of children that will make up their "stable cohort" group, organized by age. Stable cohorts will have no exposure to other groups and will only interact, if at all, in a physically distant way.

What should my child bring to camp?

Backpack, water bottle, appropriate layers for the day, sack lunch (no microwave available), morning snack, swimsuit and towel.

COVID Update: Families will need to supply their own mask for their child. If this mask is reusable, it will need to be washed and cleaned before wearing it to camp again.

How much is camp CREATE?

Full day camps (9am-4pm) are $299 for five days. Half day camps (9am-1pm) are $199 for five days. Receive an early bird 15% discount when you register before March 15th.

What is the cancelation policy?

A full reimbursement will be given for any cancellations made 30 days prior to the start of your registered camp week. A 50% refund will be given up to two weeks prior to the start of a session. A 25% refund will be given up to one week prior to the start of a session. No refund will be made for cancellations that are made six days or less prior to the start of a session.

COVID Update: Any camp that Cascades Academy cancels due to a heightened risk of health and safety concerns for our participants and staff, will be fully reimbursed.

What is the current plan in regard to COVID-19?

At this time, given the information currently available to us - our team is moving forward in preparation to host seven weeks of in-person camp, starting on July 6th. We will continue to pay close attention to all county and state-wide health and safety mandates and suggestions. We will revisit our 2020 summer programming plan in mid May, based on the information we have at that point. If and when we have to cancel an in-person camp, the payment for registration will be refunded in full.
