Cascades Academy Independent School PK-12

Parents Association

Cascades Academy is lucky to have a very active Parents Association that provides support to the community as a whole. The Parents Association plays a huge role in coordinating volunteers for various events throughout the school year.

Volunteer hours can be served in a variety of jobs, on campus as well as at home. Cascades Academy requests a minimum of 40 hours per family per year. Volunteer opportunities are announced in the school’s weekly newsletter. Each time you complete volunteer hours, please record them at Track it Forward. Hours will be tallied in the spring to ensure that you have time to complete them before the end of the year. If you have any questions please contact Bernadette Shilliam in the Front Office.

Meetings & Volunteering

PA meetings are held monthly in the library. All are welcome to attend. PA Class Representatives will attend these meetings and distribute the minutes to their assigned classes via email. One of the best ways to get engaged in the school community is through participation in the Parents Association.

The PA is responsible for several on-going fundraisers that are a great asset to the school:

Market of Choice eScrip

When making purchases at Market of Choice, 4% of your sale can be donated back to Cascades Academy. Simply register your credit or debit card through eScrip to get started!

When making purchases through, you can designate 0.5% of your purchase to go to Cascades Academy. Simply login at and select Cascades Academy. Be sure to always start your shopping at the Smile site for the school to receive the benefit of your purchases.

Fred Meyer Community Rewards

Fred Meyer will donate a portion of your purchases to the school of your choice when using your Fred Meyer Rewards Card. Sign up here.

Original Artworks

Parents may order a variety of items ranging from mugs to mouse pads emblazoned with their child’s artwork. Order forms are sent home and due back quickly so that items are delivered before Winter Break. These items make great holiday gifts and raise a substantial amount of money for our Art Program.

Scholastic Book Fair

Each spring our students have the opportunity to purchase books through the Scholastic Book Fair. A percentage of these purchases comes back to the school.

Strictly Organic Coffee Sales

Strictly Organic Coffee beans are available to be ordered on weekly basis next to the front office. A percentage of each bag ordered comes back to the school.
