Congratulations to the 23 Cascades Academy students — 12 from K-5th and 11 from 6th-8th — who earned a 2025 Inventerprise Award! Sponsored by Lonza's Bend office, Inventerprise is an annual problem-solving contest for Central Oregon students. This year’s mission, "We are the Martians!," challenged students to invent solutions for adapting to life on Mars.
A total of 781 students participated, submitting over 540 projects, and a panel of scientists, engineers, and educators judged entries based on: feasibility, how well the idea was developed and presented, creativity and originality.
Winners had the opportunity to present their projects at an awards ceremony. Kudos for exploring Mars' complexities and creating impressive inventions — proof that our future is in the hands of brilliant young innovators.
Cascades Academy students participate in Inventerprise every year, preparing for months in Lower School STEM class and Middle School science class.
